We are looking for a
Truck Shop Mechanic to make repairs and perform preventive maintenance to ensure the optimum operating efficiency of equipment in the Mining Department and Plant facility.

Reporting to the
Supervisor and working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will be
- Demonstrated track record for supporting workplace safety in a team environment. Demonstrated proficiency in removing, repairing, and installing mobile equipment components.
- Demonstrated capability to diagnose basic hydraulic problems (basic failure analysis of hydraulic parts and components)
- Familiarity with equipment makes and models of major equipment fleets in use at Boron Operations. Demonstrated proficiency in use of cutting and welding tools and repairs.
- Demonstrated proficiency in use of shop tools & support equipment overhead cranes, grinders, sanders, drills, equipment lifts, jackstands, forklifts, sweepers, etc.
- Must be capable of maintaining maintenance records and reports as required.
- Must have a working knowledge of all major mobile equipment systems cooling, braking, lubrication engine, transmission, drive train, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, NC, tires/rims, etc.
- Demonstrated familiarity with and use of shop manuals as aids to facilitate safe, quick, and effective diagnosis and repairs to mobile equipment.
- Must have and be proficient in the use of hand tools required in role.
- Must be capable of performing all other tasks, duties and assignments that may be required as part, qualifications listed above.
- Connects or disconnects control circuits or electrical components. Have a basic understanding of low voltage.
- Lubricates and fuels all mobile equipment according to an established schedule and maintains daily reports of lubrication and maintenance.
- Performs oxy-acetylene cutting, heating, burning and brazing. Uses test instruments to accomplish assigned work and performs trial tests to determine operating condition of equipment.
- Install or relocate machinery and equipment, as required. Performs housekeeping and shop clean-up duties
- Study information on new equipment and participate in training related to its maintenance. Assists in the training of Truck Shop Helpers.
What You’ll Bring

- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Must have 3 -4+ years’ experience in automotive and diesel repair.
- Must be skilled in diagnosing, disassembling, repairing, reassembling, lubricating and fueling mobile equipment; must be skilled in oxy-acetylene cutting, burning or brazing and making electrical repairs
- To qualify for Mechanic 1st Class, must meet accepted standards for skilled craft work and be a Journeyman Craftsman with a minimum of four years' experience
- Ability to read, write, perform basic math, and follow electrical schematics and hydraulic prints.
