Rainy River
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River mine is an open pit and underground, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River mine, located adjacent to the Ontario/Minnesota border is 65 kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.

About The Role
Position: 4th Class Power Engineer
Schedule: 7/7 - 12 Hour Days
Position Reports To: Mill Operations Supervisor
Position Overview
The Mill Operating Engineer is responsible for the safe operation of the Cip/Elution circuit using DCS control system as per TSSA. This includes but not limited to all carbon movement from CIP, Stripping Vessels, and Kiln control systems to ensure safe production within equipment operational specifications and operational safety requirements.
- This position is eligible for camp accommodations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and adjust assigned mill circuits and related equipment in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner.
- Monitor process conditions, equipment performance, gauges, alarms, control systems, and other operating indicators to identify changes, abnormalities, or potential equipment issues.
- Conduct regular inspections and operating rounds of assigned circuits, equipment, and work areas to ensure they are functioning as expected.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, process upsets, or environmental concerns to the Mill Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Support basic troubleshooting by recognizing abnormal operating conditions and taking appropriate action within established procedures.
- Record operating information, complete logs, and communicate relevant updates clearly during shift handovers.
- Follow site policies, standard operating procedures, safety standards, environmental requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, operators, maintenance, metallurgy, and other departments to support safe work execution, equipment reliability, and mill performance.
- Assist with equipment preparation, isolation, lockout/tagout, and return-to-service activities as required and within site procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including assigned equipment and surrounding mill areas.
- Participate in training and skill development across different areas of the mill to build operating knowledge and support operational flexibility.
- Rotate through various mill circuits as required to gain experience and support overall plant coverage.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- V alid 4th Class Power Engineer certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a milling, processing, or industrial operating environment.
- Previous experience working in a mine mill or mineral processing environment is considered an asset.
- Strong commitment to working safely and following established procedures.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable using computers and computer-based operating equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, procedures, signage, and operating guidelines.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize and report abnormal operating conditions.
The anticipated salary for this position will be between $106,000 to $114,000.
