BHP says first stage of Jansen mine almost halfway complete
The Jansen Stage 1 project is at 44% completion, said the global miner.
White Metal Resources (TSXV: WHM) received this week work permits for the Williams and Williams West gold properties, located south of the town of Glenwood, Newfoundland.
In a press release, White Metals explained that the first phase work program will focus on prospecting, rock sampling, and soil sampling over numerous prospective areas.
Williams and Williams West are located some 35 km southeast of Sokoman Minerals’ Moosehead gold project
The Williams and Williams West gold properties are proximal to the Clarks Brook property where Sokoman Minerals drilled 3.74 g/t Au over 3.10 metres, including 14.73 g/t Au over 0.60 metres.
They are located in the southern region of the Botwood Basin of northeastern Newfoundland, in Atlantic Canada.
Combined, the projects occupy 1,450 hectares and represent a new polymetallic (Cu-Zn-Pb-Au-Ag) discovery with high-grade gold, in an area that has seen very little exploration.
In the same media statement, the Thunder Bay-based company reported that its Startrek gold property also received work permits.
The project is located about 20 kilometres west of the town of Gander, also in Newfoundland.
“The Phase 1 work program will be focused on prospecting along with the relocating of previous trenching and drill hole collar locations and follow up work on numerous gold and antimony showings,” the media brief reads. “The Startrek gold property was acquired because of its numerous un-tested gold and antimony showings discovered by previous operator Rubicon Minerals.”
