The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Sales Manager Ni/Co – Europe/India tojoin our Global Sales Team.
This is a permanent position.
As the Sales Manager Ni/Co – Europe/India, you will be responsible for responsible for sales of nickel and cobalt products within the designated regions, as well for monitoring and reporting trends and the strategic aspects of nickel and cobalt markets and supporting trading decisions. This role involves managing customer relationships, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, supporting optimization of the supply chain operations, and driving business growth in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Conclude and execute sales negotiations, including contract terms, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and delivery standards.
- Introduce new nickel and cobalt products to various market sectors, collaborate with technical teams, and set competitive pricing.
- Maintain strong client relationships through frequent communication, visits, and timely responses to inquiries.
- Log and track complaints in the Customer Complaint System (CCS), analyze client satisfaction, and implement urgent solutions for issues.
- Represent Vale Base Metals at conferences, trade fairs, and industry meetings to strengthen market presence.
- Assist with contract drafting and documentation, liaising with internal teams and customers when required.
- Collaborate closely with the Commercial Operations team to ensure the Order‑to‑Cash process is fully executed, from order entry through invoicing and payment collection, guaranteeing accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
- Oversee regional distribution of nickel and cobalt, optimize netback on sales, and manage inventory and delivery costs.
- Support SG&A budgeting for regional cost centers, control expenses, and assist in training commercial staff.
- Provide market insights and strategic guidance on trends, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities; align regional operations with global strategy.
- Ensure compliance with legal, IFRS, SARBOX, and internal guidelines; monitor KPIs, identify improvement opportunities, and implement efficiency measures.
About You
Education:
- Bachelor’s undergrad in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, International Relations or a related field.
Experience:
- 5-10 years’ of work experience in commodity business or sales administration, preferably in the mining or metals industry
Skills:
- Strong understanding of contract law and commercial terms.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manage complex data.
- Problem solving & analytical thinking.
- Good communication and collaboration working with a globally diverse and multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational and planning skills.
- Skilled at solving ambiguous problems.
- Skilled at establishing procedures and standards.
- IT related knowledge (VBA, python).
- Proficient contract management / ERP software (SAP).
