Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting land, bondary, and topograpic surveys.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot surveying equipment including GPS/GNSS, total stations, and leveling instruments.
- Collect, record, and analyze field data accurately.
- Prepare preliminary maps, plans, and survey reports.
- Support engineering and construction teams with survey- related tasks..
- Conduct stakeout and measument activities for site development.
- Assist in monitoring and verifying mine or construction site coordinates.
- Participate in quality control checks of survey data and drawings.
- Collaborate with other surveyors and engineers to resolve field-related issues.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company standards during all fieldwork.
- Maintain proper documentation of survey activities and data logs.
Requirements
- Degree in Geomatics, Mine Surveying, or Equivalent
- Valid Class B Driver’s License
- 1-2 years post-graduate experience in the mining environment (Minerals Resources Management)
- Membership of Institute of Mine Surveyors of Southern Africa or equivalent is an added advantage
- Basic knowledge of surveying principles and tools
- Familiarity with CAD or GIS software is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work outdoors and travel to project sites as required
