Job Description
As a People Services Manager, you will lead the delivery of professional HR support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring seamless and positive employee experience. You’ll collaborate with People Partners and departmental leaders to drive compliance, operational efficiency, and employee engagement. This role reports to the Head of People Services and is based in Gaborone, Botswana.
Key Responsibilities
People Operations:
Lead and oversee transactional HR activities including payroll, benefits, data management, and mobility.
Partner with leaders on budget planning and pay review processes.
Drive continuous improvement in HR processes and systems.
Ensure data integrity and leverage analytics to inform decision-making.
Compliance And Legal
Maintain up-to-date HR policies and ensure alignment with local legislation.
Support statutory documentation and risk mitigation.
Lead change management initiatives in collaboration with People Partners.
Employee Relations
Act as the primary HR advisor for complex employee relations matters.
Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and absence management.
Collaborate on inclusion and diversity campaigns and provide insights from employee feedback.
Talent Attraction
Support recruitment efforts including intake meetings, shortlisting, and interviews.
Team Leadership
Manage and develop the People Relations Advisors team.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high engagement.
Collaborate across the People Services function to meet strategic goals.
Qualifications
Degree/Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field.
5–7 years in a generalist HR role, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
Experience in operational environments and matrix organizations.
Strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems (e.g., SuccessFactors).
