Context
- The Senior Project Engineer has skills and experience to take a leading role related to marine installation engineering.
Purpose
- The Senior Project Engineer performs engineering work and preparation activities as required in the project and has competence and experience to take leading roles in the projects such as Engineering Manager, marine lead engineer and a larger project packages.
Areas of responsibility
Is responsible for project documents in project such as:
- Start-up documents as MDR, Procurement plan etc.
- Project plan for own principal area.
- Technical specifications
- Operational procedures and calculations.
- Design modifications to the installation/protection spread as required
- Perform protection performance evaluation based on available soil information.
- Take part in DIC, IDC and document reviews.
- As built documentation.
Is responsible for project work such as:
- Project specific and corporate HSE and Quality requirements are incorporated in the delegated engineering and procurement activities.
- Establishment of interface requirements and assist in resolving interface issues.
- Following up of subcontracted work, such as Survey, ROV, Vessel and other contracted services.
- Following up of suppliers
- Progress and other meetings with Client.
- Safe Job analysis/HAZOPS/FMEA’s as required in the project.
- Scope of work within time, cost and technical requirements.
- Delegate work packages of scope of work and follow up
- Offshore supervision
Participate in department/company work such as:
- Develop departments tools/checklists/documents templates etc
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Take personal responsibility for own HSE in all involved activities.
- Have zero tolerance for poor HSE standards, and intervene to stop unsafe work.
- Act like a HSE role model for others.
- Training of new personnel
- Tender work
- Research and development of new technologies
- Investment projects
Expected results
- Ensure that the engineering work is carried out in accordance with the contract and to the clients standard/experience.
- Update own skills according to company requirements
- Deliver according to decided objectives in own department and/or common objectives in the company
- Contribute to keeping the technology up to date with industry practice and rules
- For a specific project, deliver scope of work within time, cost and technical requirements.
Position sizing
- This clients typical project periods are 12-36 months.
- Be able to have the marine lead engineer role in a project or participate in a team of engineers lead by the Marine Lead Engineer
Required skills and qualifications
- Senior engineer with experience within cable laying operations (preferably export cable / interconnectors). Need to have offshore experience. Preferrable with experience from the clients vessels, or similar.
- Need to be located in Oslo, to work from the Oslo office.
- Senior Engineer with relevant education, Master/Bachelor or equivalent or experience with similar positions.
- Typically 5-10 years relevant engineering experience
- Good communication skills
- Fluent in Norwegian and English, verbal and written
- Be able to work in teams as well as independently
- Self-going on basic tasks within own discipline
- Good ability and willingness to train others on core tasks (tools, software) within discipline / technical discipline area
- "Self-propelled”/inner drive to prioritize and perform own tasks
- Ability to adapt to change
- Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative
- Be able to find alternative solutions in the work
