Job Purpose
To provide expert-level support in the development, implementation, and oversight of project controls practices, including cost control, scheduling, risk management, and performance monitoring for capital and major projects. The role ensures that projects are delivered within budget, on schedule, and in compliance with corporate standards and best practices.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the preparation, coordination, and maintenance of detailed project control plans covering cost, schedule, and risk aspects.
- Support the development and validation of baseline schedules and budgets in collaboration with project teams.
- Perform advanced schedule analysis, cost forecasting, and trend evaluations to support decision-making.
- Ensure integration and alignment of contractor schedules with the overall project master plan.
- Monitor project performance against approved baselines and report deviations with proposed mitigation actions.
- Drive implementation of earned value management (EVM) across major projects and provide interpretation of performance indices.
- Support change management processes by evaluating time and cost impacts of proposed changes.
- Participate in risk workshops and provide quantitative schedule and cost risk analysis.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers and project control staff in tools, techniques, and reporting.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project control systems, procedures, and reporting standards.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including contractors and consultants, to ensure data accuracy and compliance with control requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certification such as PMP, CCP, or equivalent is preferred.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in project controls, preferably within large-scale capital or industrial projects.
- Proven track record in managing complex cost and schedule control assignments.
- Experience with PMIS, ERP systems, and tools such as Primavera P6, Ares Prism, or equivalent.
