About the role:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Mining and Geology Systems, the Technical Analyst is responsible for delivering haulage-focused technology solutions, including the development, implementation, and sustainment of software systems (both custom-developed and commercial off-the-shelf) with a focus on haulage and road quality, using Agile approaches.

Key responsibilities include requirements analysis, system design, specification and estimation, development of enterprise-grade applications, quality assurance, and integration between vendor systems and custom solutions. Delivering advanced technical support and ensuring long-term system reliability are critical aspects of this role. The position also involves enhancing data analytics capabilities across mining and geology systems to support data-driven products. This Calgary-based role requires occasional travel to operational sites in British Columbia.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise-grade applications and APIs using modern .NET frameworks
- Apply Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and Dependency Injection to ensure maintainable and scalable solutions
- Implement integrations between vendor systems and custom applications.
- Maintain source control and manage release cycles using Git and Azure DevOps
- Conduct quality assurance and automated testing using xUnit and related frameworks
- Monitor and improve system performance using logging and telemetry tools (Serilog, Application Insights)
- Support end-to-end lifecycle for technical solutions—from ideation and discovery through planning, implementation, sustainment, and vendor coordination for customizations
- Provide advanced technical support for business-critical tools, applications, and expert systems
- Leverage vendor support to identify and resolve high-priority issues, including change management, release management, and knowledge management
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across all organizational levels
- Align business stakeholders and technical teams by translating complex requirements into clear, prioritized user stories and technical specifications.
- Maintain a structured backlog in Azure DevOps to support effective delivery of .NET-based solutions
- Ensure systems remain compliant with security and governance standards throughout their lifecycle, actively supporting the digital solution review process and contributing to related oversight activities
- Conduct business analysis and leverage data to inform decision-making and contribute in business case development for strategic initiatives
- Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain documentation for deployment, sustainment, and support—including release management, system configuration, and knowledge bases
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support team and organizational objectives
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Applied Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years of technical experience in the delivery and sustainment of enterprise-grade digital systems in industrial environments—preferably within the mining sector
- Proficient in software development using ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, and applying Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and Dependency Injection for maintainable and scalable solutions
- Experienced in source control and release management using Git and Azure DevOps
- Strong understanding of automated testing and quality assurance practices using xUnit and related frameworks
- Skilled in monitoring and improving system performance using logging and telemetry tools such as Serilog and Application Insights
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery of custom solutions using the Microsoft technology stack
- Experience with front-end development using modern frameworks (Blazor or similar) would be considered an asset
- Brings a positive, adaptable, and collaborative mindset with a strong focus on delivering value and driving results
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to perform data and gap analysis and resolve complex technical issues by identifying root causes
- Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver small to medium scale projects using established delivery frameworks, ensuring alignment with project scope, timelines, and stakeholder expectations
- Strong understanding of Agile practices and proficiency in managing backlogs using Azure DevOps
- Experienced in full system lifecycle management, including ideation, implementation, sustainment, and compliance
- Strong knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, and database design, including experience with SQL Server (2016 or later) for database application development. Power BI, analytics, dashboard/report development, and data modeling would be considered an asset
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and practical experience with Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS offerings
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
