About Cadia
Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

Who we’re looking for
We are seeking an Electrical Technician - Shutdown to join our Electrical Maintenance department at Cadia. This person will ensure safe and on time shutdown maintenance activities within Cadia. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will work within our Major hazard, Critical Control framework to ensure the assets within the Cadia Mine and ancillary infrastructure are maintained to allow the mine to achieve desired production targets.
Key responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):
Demonstrate, support and encourage alignment with the Newmont values and practices.
Ensure all Electrical Shutdown maintenance activities including tasks for minor and major maintenance are executed safely, in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
Seek continuous improvement opportunities and perform analysis of maintenance plans and optimisation strategies.
Liaise with Long Term planner & engineering to make sure strategies are in place for all electrical equipment as per the Electrical Maintenance Strategy Guideline and are setup in SAP.
Assist with the planning and management of offsite rebuilds / repairs of electrical equipment.
Assist on the process of raising emergent work or cancelling work from shutdowns.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- NSW Electrical Supervisor Certificate
- Medium level computer skills
- Experience using SAP (CMMS)
- Excellent communication skills
- High Voltage Switching Qualifications (desirable)
Please note: This is a permanent role based in Orange, NSW on a 5D/2X roster or 9DFN.
