About The Role
RT Portside trading business has running 6 years in about 18 China ports and servicing about 80 customers with 30 Mtons per year. And, as new mine Simandou Project is coming, the product service team needs more power for the growing business. Since the very complex production in the ports including blending, screening and tertiary crushing, etc, it is very important to ensure all production in smoothly and management of onsite production operation.
To ensure the smoothly operation as mentioned above, set up a new role of Specialist Product Service – PORTSIDE Trading.
As Specialist Product Service, will play a key role to lead the onsite Port production and operation team to ensure the production and operation are supplied safely, timely, cost-effectively, and at the required quality standards. This role acts as the primary liaison between customers, internal teams, and service partners to ensure smooth delivery of product-related services. This role focuses on supporting product lifecycle activities, resolving technical and operational issues, and maintaining high customer satisfaction through proactive service management.
Some Of The Key Responsibilities Include
- Planning on production schedules for 15-20 ports and oversee vessel schedule & on-site production operations & inventory management.
- Implement all product quality control and quality assurance throughout all production processes, including incoming materials & processing & delivery, investigate quality issues and settle disputes with customers
- Maintain port relationships, establish long-term partnerships and develop port capability to support existing business or new project. Take the lead of key projects related to port and marine operations.
- Designed and optimized the integrated inventory management system to drive operational efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure full adherence to company policies and compliance standards.
- Ensure the safe stacking of cargo and the smooth execution of transportation. Reduce the risk of cargo retention, prevent cargo loss.
- Ensure that Cargo agents’ reasonable and efficient operation, monitor agents’ work by proper management process. Ensure that the cargo is stacked reasonably.
- Utilises best practice methodology in the overall portside inventory risk control system, mitigate the risk in the operation process.
- Ensure the daily maintenance, patrol and water supply of the cargo.
- Develop a statement of inventory of cargo. Daily monitoring of cargo operation in all relevant ports
- Contributed to achieving the best operator standards, ensuring cost efficiency and sustaining RT business’s industry-leading competitive advantage
- Develop and manage all business-related cargo agents/ship agents/inspection companies to ensure our services standards are met
- Manage fixed assets, including 2 Arch Shelters and 3 crushing centres.
- Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams and external parties to ensure the execution of Simandou Tertiary Crushing 10mt in 2026. Ensure the SIMFER management system in place in the ports with good motoring of inventory, stacking, crushing and screening, cargo sampling and analysis from end to end, etc.
- Led the end-to-end setup of the marine operations module for the new stockpile management system of the Simandou Project, taking full ownership of cross-functional coordination and implementation.
- Lead and contribute to the HSE management together with the company's HSE department to mitigate operational risks. Utilize and promote best practice ( compliance, risk control, cost effective) within port and marine operations.
- Assist Product Service Manager (PSM) to manage all product service and ports operations
About You
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have
- Bachelor’s degree or above
- 10+ above port and marine operation experience and/or Portside business operating experience.
- Demonstrated strong commercial insight and business acumen
- Strong business ethics
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with other project teams, contractors, business units and functional groupsExcellent attention to detail.
- IMS/SAP proficiency required.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese.
- Good skill in excel/PPT
