Reporting to the Coordinator – Ultra Class Trucks, you will be responsible for leading and managing all maintenance activities for the Ultra Class Truck fleet to ensure maximum equipment availability, reliability, and performance.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensuring that all maintenance activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in line with production targets and operational priorities.
- Oversee and lead daily maintenance activities for Ultra Class Trucks, ensuring safe and efficient execution of tasks.
- Schedule and allocate technicians, ensuring appropriate coverage and balanced workload distribution.
- Supervise both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including troubleshooting, repairs, and major component change-outs.
- Manage and prioritize work orders, ensuring all tasks are properly documented and approved in accordance with work management procedures.
- Conduct routine and statutory inspections, ensuring equipment compliance and identifying required corrective actions.
- Analyse equipment performance to identify opportunities to improve asset reliability, availability, and cost efficiency.
- Act as a primary liaison between maintenance, operations, planning, and other departments to align maintenance activities with production schedules.
- Collaborate with maintenance planners to provide accurate scheduling inputs, updated equipment status, and quality information for effective planning.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Craft/Advanced Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical or other related Engineering field.
- Six (6) years’ experience in Heavy Earthmoving Equipment maintenance.
- Proven experience in maintaining Ultra Class or heavy mining equipment.
- Valid Zambian driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate technical teams
- Familiarity with maintenance planning systems and reliability principles.
- Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
