Reporting to the Coordinator – 100 Ton Trucks, you will be responsible for coordinating technicians and leading the maintenance, repair, and performance optimization of the 100-ton haul truck fleet.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensuring that all maintenance activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in line with production targets and operational priorities.
- Overseeing day-to-day maintenance activities for the 100-ton truck fleet, including proper allocation and execution of tasks.
- Working closely with maintenance planners, operations teams, and contractors to maximize fleet availability, reliability, and productivity.
- Managing and prioritizing work orders, maintaining accurate documentation, and securing all necessary approvals.
- Supervising both planned and unplanned maintenance work to ensure minimal disruption to production.
- Coordinating repairs, component replacements, and scheduled maintenance activities.
- Ensuring that all maintenance work follows approved procedures, standards, and cost-effective practices.
- Liaising with operations to align maintenance schedules with production requirements.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and asset histories.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Craft/Advanced Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical or other related Engineering field.
- Six (6) years’ experience in Heavy Earthmoving Equipment maintenance.
- Proven background managing light and rubber-tyred equipment fleets.
- Strong knowledge of haul truck systems, diagnostics, and component life cycles.
- Valid Zambian driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate technical teams.
- Familiarity with maintenance planning systems and reliability principles.
- Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
