The role – what you’ll do
Barr is seeking an oil and gas industry consultant with a focus on helping expand Barr’s brand in the marketplace through targeted client outreach. In this hybrid and/or remote role, you will develop and vet a network of external contacts who may be good clients for Barr, nurturing these relationships to connect with Barr practitioners and position for proposals and projects.
The ideal candidate for this position has strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and a willingness to work cooperatively with project team members in a high-energy environment that encourages self-initiative.
Your impact – key responsibilities
Build and maintain a strong network within the company to understand priorities and develop support from champions willing to engage with potential clients around opportunities that align with the company’s priorities. Help seek out opportunities that align with these priorities.
Attend industry events and network with potential clients through various channels to vet potential fit as clients and identify opportunities that may align with the company’s priorities.
Consistently lead and support market contacts to build relationships and opportunities for proposals and projects.
Support pursuit and proposal efforts to provide continuity in understanding our strategy, positioning, and client expectations.
About the opportunity
Compensation: anticipated range of $100,000–$120,000 annually. Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance. This position is classified as exempt (salaried)] under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Hybrid or remote: a hybrid arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office; a remote arrangement refers to working primarily from a home office. This position can be based out of any Barr office. Remote arrangements will be considered based on candidate qualifications, local regulations, and Barr’s needs.
Travel expectation: willingness to travel and participate in market- and regionally focused conferences and other events to engage with current and potential clients.
About you – required core competencies
Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience.
Proven ability to maintain accurate, up-to-date contacts and activities.
Experience with leading opportunity pursuit teams to position for opportunities and RFPs.
Experience with engineering and environmental professional services.
Driver’s license: possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future.
