Your work environment
Newmont Boddington is a world-class gold and copper operation located within the Saddleback greenstone belt in Western Australia, approximately 130 kilometres southeast of Perth and 16 kilometres from the rural farming town of Boddington.
Situated on 33,000 hectares of land traditionally owned by the Wiilman people of the Noongar nation, Boddington is a drive-in, drive-out site that offers employees the opportunity to live locally or in Western Australia’s southwest.
This permanent position will be offered on a drive in, drive out 8/6 roster comprised of 12 hour day shifts only with mine village accommodation provided for those who do not go home every night.
Your impact
Reporting to the Superintendent Non-Process Infrastructure, this position is responsible for supervising and coordinating all NPI maintenance activities across site operations. The role provides frontline leadership to ensure safe, compliant and efficient execution of planned, scheduled and breakdown maintenance activities within a mining environment.
As part of our team you will
- Supervise NPI Maintenance Staff: Lead, mentor, and oversee a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Supervise the execution of planned, scheduled and breakdown work orders across multiple trades
- Maintain all NPI assets on site, including hydrocarbons and waste management infrastructure
- Assist with planning of maintenance tasks and scoping of improvement projects
- Liaise with site personnel on safety, performance and technical matters
- Be accountable for meeting departmental KPIs through effective execution of daily and weekly work management schedules, ability to develop and drive strategies to improve maintenance services to achieve KPI and compliance targets
- Conduct daily workshop, infrastructure and equipment inspections to support continuous improvement
- Maintain site electrical compliance in accordance with statutory and company requirements
- Ensure team compliance with all company, legislative and statutory safety and environmental regulations
- Maintain inventory, tooling, test equipment and stock levels
- Promote a safe and positive culture within your team
Prerequisites for your success in the role
- Australian-recognised Electrical Trade Qualification with a WA Electrical Licence
- Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Current Electrical Nominee’s Licence
- Demonstrated electrical supervisory experience with strong hands-on technical capability
- Proven leadership and performance management experience within a mining environment
- Sound knowledge of AS 3000 Electrical Standards
- Experience with change management processes
- SAP experience (highly regarded)
- Instrumentation experience (advantageous)
- Current WA Manual Driver’s Licence
- Strong communication skills with the ability to multitask and proactively manage competing priorities
- High Voltage switching ticket desirable but not essential
