Your impact
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance servicing and associated tasks across the Mining Mobile Fleet. This role plays a critical part in maximising equipment availability by delivering high-quality, safe and efficient maintenance while minimising the impact of unscheduled downtime.
As part of our team you will
- Complete planned maintenance servicing activities in accordance with site procedures and safety systems
- Diagnose and rectify unscheduled maintenance faults to minimise operational impact
- Conduct quality oil sampling, defect elimination inspections and fault rectification
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations
- Complete field-level risk assessments, job hazard analysis and permit requirements
- Identify and coordinate resources required to complete maintenance activities
- Assist with supervision of contract personnel to ensure safe and effective execution of work
- Liaise with warehouse and tool store teams to source parts, tooling and consumables
- Raise requisitions and complete documentation for parts, returns and credits as required
- Complete daily work orders, time confirmations and maintenance records with appropriate detail
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the ongoing enhancement of maintenance practices
Prerequisites for your success in the role
- 1–3 years’ experience in a similar Service Technician or mobile maintenance role
- Forklift and dogging tickets (desirable)
- Current C-Class Driver’s Licence
- Previous experience operating CAT 773 / 777 service vehicles
- Demonstrated experience maintaining large open pit mobile equipment, including:
- Caterpillar 793D/F haul trucks
- D10 / D11 track dozers
- 994 wheel loaders and 854 wheel dozers
- 16 / 24 motor graders
- Experience with component repair and refurbishment
- Working knowledge of CAT SIS and VIMS systems
- Basic computer skills for maintenance systems and reporting
- Experience working in an open pit mining environment
- Commitment to safety, teamwork and inclusive work practices
Your work environment
This is a permanent, site-based position located at Newmont’s Boddington mine, approximately 130 km south of Perth, Western Australia. The role operates on a 7/7 roster with rotating day and night shifts.
