Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Supervisor, Environment Water Management, you will be part of the Environment Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.
- Provide support for hydrogeological and hydrological assessments, as well as water treatment processes, to ensure the effectiveness of the water management strategy and compliance with environmental standards.
- Collect field data in remote locations and diverse environmental conditions on surface and underground.
- Install, calibrate, and maintain hydrological and meteorological instrumentation.
- Maintain databases related to groundwater monitoring, water balance tracking, and key water quality indicators.
- Support the development of the site water balance model and hydrogeology model.
- Assist in the preparation of documents including technical memos, management plans, external reporting documents, design packages, and as-built reports.
- Support the geotechnical engineering team with field data collection, instrumentation maintenance, and inspections, to ensure consistent coverage of time-sensitive work on the opposite rotation of the Geotechnical Technician.
- Work safely, effectively, independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, Water Resources, or a related field, or equivalent qualifications and experience;
- 0 to 3 years of experience, preferably in a mining or industrial setting;
- Experience with data acquisition, data management, and quality control monitoring;
- Proficiency with GIS tools such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Field Map;
- Experience with modeling software such as GoldSim, Leapfrog, Deswik, or other related software is considered an asset;
- Experience in the Arctic or permafrost environment is considered an asset.
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
