About Brucejack
Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

Your Impact
As a Production Geologist, Short Term, you will play a key role in optimizing ore extraction at the Brucejack mine by providing accurate, timely geological input to production and technical teams. Your work will directly influence grade control, stope and development design, and short-term planning accuracy, while upholding Newmont’s highest standards for safety, data integrity, and operational excellence. This role provides broad exposure to underground production geology and supports progression into future production or senior production geology roles. This is a fixed-term role, ending on December 31st 2026.
As Part of Our Team, You Will
- Demonstrate visible commitment to site Health, Safety, and Environmental standards through active participation in hazard identification, safety observations, toolbox meetings, and incident investigations.
- Collect, validate, and maintain high-quality geological mapping data, including lithology, mineralization, and structural information.
- Complete daily diamond drill core logging and processing, including periodic drill rig inspections.
- Interpret drill results and assess geological risk parameters in support of short-term mine planning.
- Collaborate with Exploration, Resource Geology, and Mine Technical Services teams to support geological interpretations and updates.
- Contribute to short-term block model updates, ensuring mine planning is underpinned by accurate and current geological data.
- Review and validate Development, Blast, and Longhole designs, ensuring geological information is correctly represented and clearly communicated to operations.
- Participate in reconciliation processes, comparing production results with resource models and mill performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Attend daily, weekly, and monthly mine planning meetings, providing geological input to support production execution.
- Monitor material movement and ore/waste classification, supporting accurate data capture and reporting within Pitram and related systems.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology with 1–3 years of relevant underground mining experience (progressive experience preferred).
- Registered as a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) or Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT) with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC), or eligibility for transfer immediately.
- Demonstrated experience in grade control, production monitoring, and underground geological workflows, preferably in epithermal-style deposits.
- Proficiency with Vulcan, Deswik, and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Pitram, Acquire, Krux, and Seequent Leapfrog considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills, with the ability to work within established systems and processes.
- Effective communication, planning, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability and willingness to work in underground environments, including operating vehicles and adhering to site traffic management plans.
- Strong collaboration skills and the confidence to raise safety or operational concerns when required.
- Must reside in North America and be legally eligible to work in Canada on a FIFO basis.

The Brucejack Operations team is now recruiting for the position of Production Geologist, Short Term with a competitive base salary between $91,800 – $122,400 / year (prorated). This is a fixed-term role, ending on December 31st 2026. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies, with consideration to internal equity. The expected salary range for this role is CA$91,800 - 122,400 / year (prorated) . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
