Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Corporate Director – Business Performance, you will be part of the Operational Excellence - Business Performance Department. You will be responsible to develop independent assessments of operational performance across all divisions and will provide direction on continuous improvement programs by conducting in-depth performance analysis with a specific focus on operational performance, providing benchmark information and identify areas of opportunity for improvements. You will also provide guidance to drive performance improvements while maintaining ownership at regional and site levels.
You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Independently assess sites operational performance, identify opportunities and provide standardized information to Regional VPs and sites to support Continuous Improvement programs;
- Gather, structure information and identify gaps to provide relevant data to sites while ensuring Continuous Improvement execution ownership remains with regions and individual sites;
- Be an integral part of the governance structure that allows to communicate operational optimization achievements, share successes inter-regions and ensuring accountability and transparency;
- Support sites teams to optimize OPEX and CAPEX management, providing enhanced visibility and advise to relevant executives including site leadership, regional vice-president and COO’s ;
- Conduct deep analysis of operational performance, identifying opportunities for cost improvements, and provide direction and advise on key findings;
- Establish governance for the business performance program and develop a reporting/dashboard structure that will fulfill the organization needs. Use the information to communicate key findings and drive continuous improvement programs across the organization;
- Maintain constant communication with sites, advise on areas of expertise and drive change;
- Develop and continuously improve the tracking tools/reports and the business performance team program;
- Collect, analyze, and benchmark key operational performance metrics such as tons vs. workforce, development meters, tons/hour, recovery %, etc;
- Provide complementary visibility to COOs, Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs), and site teams to facilitate informed decision-making;
- Manage external consultants and coordinate with the organization’s leadership;
- Ensure bottlenecks and key value drivers are understood and that robust actions plans with proper focus are in place to deliver value;
- Identify and document areas with opportunities for improvement, offering actionable recommendations for optimization;
- Provide guidance, reports and recommendations to set unit cost reduction targets at site and regional level;
- In collaboration with the Digital Transformation team, ensure consolidation of key metrics as well as Continuous Improvement progress reports;
- Act as a change agent and ensure progress of key initiatives while providing advise, support and direction;
- Advise and collaborate with the TCT team through the planning process by providing insights and guidance through each iteration to ensure that cost compliance risks are well leveled throughout the organization;
- Provide relevant analysis that will support the recommendation of potential scenarios to sites based on performance analysis;
- Support the Capital Allocation Policy through analysis, advise and recommendations that will support prioritization;
- Provide input in LOM optimization opportunities and full potential efforts to align short and long-term strategy.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field;
- Master's Degree is considered an asset;
- 10-15 years of direct experience in mining and business performance, with excellent credibility to respectfully challenge the operations (11 mines) and develop strong relationships that will support change and drive continuous improvement across the business;
- Knowledge of the French language is considered an asset;
- Strong technical expertise in operations across the full mining cycle (mining, logistics, processing);
- Good cost management knowledge;
- Continuous improvement process knowledge;.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from our Corporate Office in Toronto, ON. Occasional travel to the different regions/offices may also be required.
