Your Next Challenge
Supporting the 3D modelling team within the Geology Department of AEM’s Technical Services Group by undertaking various tasks including (but not limited to) compilation, database validation, interpretation of geological or geometallurgical data and 3D modelling mandates. Possibility of field work depending on projects assigned.
What You Need To Succeed
- Currently enrolled in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of a Geology or Geological Engineering Bachelor of Science or Master of Science program in a Canadian university;
- Strong interest and aptitude for learning various software applications;
- Experience using Leapfrog, Iogas, Supervisor or Datamine is an asset;
- Team-oriented and collaborative; Good oral and written communication skills in English;
- Ability to communicate in French or Spanish is a plus; Flexibility and adaptability;
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality;
- Relocate to one of our department hubs for the duration of the internship: Rouyn-Noranda, Val d’Or, Montreal (Mirabel) or Toronto. Preference will be given to students relocating to the Abitibi region for the duration of their internship.
Conditions And Benefits
- Four (4) month internship with the possibility of extension;
- Option to work on a 5/2 - 4/3 schedule;
- Housing available for interns from outside the abitibi region for a fee of $25 per week;
- Travel allowance of up to $32.30 per week;
- Access to an internal carpooling system;
- Exploratory tour of the city's attractions;
- Provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);
- Modular Mining Worker Training (FMTM) provided as needed;
- Competitive salary offered based on level of education.
