About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented metallurgy co-op student that will support the daily operations of the processing plant by assisting with sampling, test work, and data analysis to help optimize recovery, throughput, and reagent usage. Working alongside the metallurgy, operations, maintenance, and environmental teams, the intern will gain hands‑on experience in plant performance monitoring, continuous improvement initiatives, and safe operating practices. This role provides meaningful exposure to real‑world mineral processing challenges while contributing to operational efficiency and metallurgical excellence.
This role will be based at our Côté Gold mine site (Gogama, Ontario) on a 14 on, 14 off rotational schedule.
Responsibilities
- Assist with routine sampling, test work, and bench‑scale experiments to support metallurgical evaluations and circuit optimization.
- Compile, validate, and analyze process data to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
- Support daily plant performance monitoring and update metallurgical dashboards or reports as required.
- Participate in reagent tracking, consumption analysis, and troubleshooting activities to optimize usage.
- Assist with metallurgical accounting tasks, including mass balances and reconciliation activities.
- Participate in shutdown inspections, equipment checks, and commissioning support where applicable.
- Help maintain accurate documentation, SOPs, and logs aligned with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and environmental teams on continuous improvement projects focused on safety, recovery, and plant reliability.
Job Qualifications
Key Skills & Knowledge
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
- Must be registered in a recognized co-op or internship program.

Salary Range: $20-$24 per hour.
