About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Core Cutter to perform precise concrete core cutting, drilling, and related concrete cutting works at construction and renovation sites. The role involves operating specialized machinery to create openings for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural modifications while maintaining safety and quality standards.This role will be based at our Côté Gold mine site (Gogama, Ontario) on a 7 on, 7 off rotational schedule.
Responsibilities
- Receive diamond drill core from the contractor at the Côté core shack and record core meters and tests.
- Complete initial measurements such as measuring the core, documenting the start and end metres in the boxes and any other preliminary measurements needed before restoring core orientation.
- Carry out accepted procedure for re-orientation of the drill core. Record the percentage that was successfully oriented by the contractor and provide this information to the Geologist.
- Complete all required measurements on the drill core as specified by the Geologists. Where required, collect this data in digital format to avoid err
- Use standard procedures and best practices as determined by the Geologists
- Document the measurements and other work performed on the drill core in a log and include all numbers related to productivity rates.
- Assist in the coordination of drill core from logging benches to storage racks
- Work with the core cutters to ensure proper movement and organization of drill core / avoid over-handling of the core.
- When requested by the Geologist and if trained to do so, complete visits to the drill rigs for the purposes of safety / environmental inspections
Job Qualifications
Key Skills and Knowledge:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Registration in a geology / geological engineering program at university or college is considered an asset.
Relevant Experience
- Good interpersonal and communication skills are required
- Sense of urgency and focus
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to work well in a team
Skills And Strengths, We Value

- Previous experience in mineral exploration is considered an asset.

Salary Range: $63,000-$86,600
The final offer is determined based on your individual skills, qualifications, and competencies and aligned with our commitment to internal equity.
