Job Summary
The Heap Leach General Supervisor will be responsible for safety, environmental and production within the scope of process operations including the leach pads and the plant, and associated utilities. He or she is expected to understand the key drivers for safe production within the process group and work to execute the group’s objectives through direction of the leach pad operators and the plant operators.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the safe operation of the heap leach.
- Provide guidance and direction to plant operators, and schedule plant activities in order to meet established process targets and goals
- Maintain effective work relationships with other departments (Mining, Safety, Environmental and HR) as well as work groups within the Process department (maintenance, lab).
- Coordinate needs for supplies, maintenance, equipment and personnel with other departments and suppliers.
- Provide leadership and demonstration of company values through his or her words and actions.
- Assist and/or work with appropriate departments and agencies with development of new practices or procedures.
- Be knowledgeable of MSHA and OSHA regulations and accompany site inspectors on audits.
- Be knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and be able to determine root causes of potential problems to processes and work to troubleshoot them.
- Develop employee potential by providing training, development and coaching.
- Perform employee evaluations and give feedback with respect to performance.
- Recruit new personnel as required.
- Direct and perform monthly, weekly, and daily safety meetings, and perform general and oversight inspections in all areas.
- Actively seeks out ways to improve the Process Department through new processes and initiatives and be a key driver in establishing this mindset throughout the Department.
- Completion of monthly required KPIs.
- Take on additional responsibilities as required.
Knowledge, Skill And Experience
- 5 years of relevant experience, with 2 years of supervisory experience, with High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years of relevant experience in the areas of gold ore processing such as leaching, carbon handling, refining, among others.
- Microsoft Office, hand and power tools, written and verbal communication
- Process and mobile equipment
The annual salary range for this position is $95,481.00 - $127,308.00, based on experience.
