Surveying & Data Collection
• Conduct underground surveys for development headings, production stopes, ventilation raises, and infrastructure installations.
• Perform mark ups for long hole drilling, including collar locations, toe points, burdens, and spacing.
• Complete cavity monitoring surveys (CMS) or laser scans of stopes to measure overbreak, underbreak, and volume reconciliation.
• Establish and maintain underground survey control networks, including stations, backsights, and benchmarks.
• Collect and verify spatial data using total stations, laser scanners, and other survey instruments.
Data Processing & Reporting
• Process survey data and generate accurate maps, plans, and 3D models using mine design and survey software (e.g., Deswik, MineSight, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Update mine plans, development progress, and stope shapes in coordination with engineering and geology teams.
• Produce daily or weekly survey reports, including progress measurements and volume calculations.
• Maintain organized digital and physical survey records
Operational Support
• Provide timely survey services to support drilling, blasting, ground support installation, and infrastructure construction.
• Assist engineers with stope design updates, reconciliation, and quality control.
• Ensure all survey work complies with company standards, MSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors, miners, and contractors to ensure accurate implementation of survey instructions.
Safety & Compliance
• Follow all underground safety protocols, including ventilation, ground control, and hazard recognition procedures.
• Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions.
• Maintain survey equipment in safe working condition and report defects promptly.
