About the Job:
We are seeking a Mid-Range Planner for our Rochester operation near Lovelock, NV. This position will report to the Mine Engineering Superintendent. The successful candidate will be expected to lead and manage the mid-range plan at the mine site.
This position will require company-supported relocation to Northern Nevada to work 4 days on, 3 days off schedule on-site at Coeur Rochester near Lovelock, NV.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe, healthy and clean environment by ensuring Coeur’s values and standards are present in all aspects of work execution
- Work closely with Safety, Environmental and Production teams to ensure safe, environmentally friendly production
- Key member of the Technical Services team that is involved in all aspects of mine engineering and driving continuous improvement
- Develop and manage a monthly rolling 3 year mine plan that is in line with the mine’s near- and long-term production goals
- Execute scenario analysis to determine opportunities for continued optimization of the operation and reduction of costs and production bottlenecks
- Engage with production and project teams to ensure plans are being executed per design as well as the decommissioning and commissioning of facilities
- Completion of month-end reconciliation and reporting
- Accountable for providing internal and external auditors requested data sets as well as explanations of month-end processes and procedures
- Reporting of daily, monthly and yearly mine production physicals and site KPIs against established site metrics to ensure proactive planning in place to mitigate risk to plan
- Perform other duties as required
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Ability to work safe and promote safe behavior in others
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mine Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mine planning at an open-pit mining operation required
- A high level of proficiency in Deswik mine planning and scheduling software or related mining software is essential
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team effort as well as individually
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure work environment
- Strong verbal, written, analytical and communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
