About the Job:
Our Rochester Mine, located near Lovelock, NV is recruiting for a Purchasing Agent. This site-based position will work a 4 10 schedule. This position is responsible for procurement and logistical activities for delivery of equipment, materials and services required for the successful and economical operation of the mine site. The individual demonstrates a commitment to improving safety, personnel relations, efficiencies, and goals of the mine site.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring submitted purchase requisitions contain necessary and accurate details, to ensure purchase and delivery of goods requirements are met.
- Responsible for expediting purchase orders where need demands and continually track open purchase requisitions.
- Responsible for purchasing consisting of Procurement Quality (Matrix), procuring services & materials as required by end users within Oracle authorizations and company policies.
- Responsible for coordinating continuous improvement process activities, including cost savings opportunities through analysis and method changes, assigning responsibilities and measuring progress.
- Determines sources of supplies, maintaining adequate stock levels and inventory.
- Periodically analyze blanket and contract purchase orders to confirm pricing is current and that suppliers are meeting all terms and conditions of the agreements.
- Has an understanding of purchasing and warehousing procedures and applies these procedures to all jobs.
- Understanding of standard operational and maintenance procedures at the mine site.
- Supports procurement auditing procedures, while following company guidelines.
- Support and assist with special assignments and projects.
- Observes confidentiality in all instances.
- Prepare weekly & monthly KPI (key performance indicator) reports as directed by Purchasing Agent.
- Promote and reinforce a “safety and health first” attitude to all Coeur employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Cooperatively work with numerous suppliers, contractors, and federal, state, and local agencies.
- May perform workplace inspections and monitoring as assigned.
- Performs loss control investigations, analysis, and recordkeeping.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Not less than 2 years in purchasing and/or warehousing including record keeping.
- Successful completion of formal education in technical or business-related disciplines.
- Experience in procurement negotiations is essential for this position.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with diverse groups and departments.
- Understands and performs methods and procedures involved in purchasing, issuing, replenishing, and storing supplies and equipment.
- Understands hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams within the department. Responsible for recognition and proper handling of hazardous wastes within the department.
- Knowledge of available freight options is mandatory to insure the prompt and efficient movement of materials.
- Requires minimal supervision to complete tasks.
- Has a thorough understanding of all purchasing and warehouse procedures.
- Assists in periodic, cycle, and annual inventories.
- Willing to work split or variable shift schedules.
- In-depth understanding of all procedures used to ship materials or equipment off the mine site.
- Bases decisions upon sound knowledge of purchasing procedures.
- Skill in managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to perform complex tasks in computer systems, i.e., Oracle, Outlook, Excel & Word.
- Must possess a valid State issued Driver’s License.
