About the Job:
Reporting to the Exploration Geologist, the Geological Technician is responsible for the performance of the following duties in a safe and productive manner. This position is located at the Exploration Warehouse in the city of Lovelock, NV.
Responsibilities:
- Provide general labor to the Exploration department
- The duties may include cleaning, stocking, and transporting supplies; field work including but not limited to visiting drill sites, and going to the mine site
- Assist in analyzing core samples, including using core saw and computer data input
- Collect and move samples around
- Package samples for shipping
- May be required to operate small equipment on site such as forklift
- Perform any and all work as directed
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Follow all procedures and safety measures to ensure safe production
- Work in all conditions and environments, approximately 80% of the job is outdoors
- Able to lift 35lbs on a continuous basis, 50lbs on an occasional basis
- Able to walk up and down slopes and uneven ground daily
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Work as a team member and communicate openly with others
- 0-3 years’ experience working in a physical role preferred
- Self-directed and able to take leadership roles on many projects
- Willing to stop work for safety concerns and always abide by safety best practices
Additional Information:
- Hourly Rate Range: $27.33 - 38.70 (DOE)
- 4, 10-hour Day Shifts (Days Vary)
- Quarterly bonus up to $4,100 (up to $16,400 annually)
