JOB SUMARY
The Payroll Analyst will be a local representative of the payroll process the payroll in Vale Oman, and as a backup for UAE payroll – responsible for compliance processes and procedures and is also the main point of contact for associate inquiries, as well as third party communication. From a payroll perspective, the Payroll Analyst is also responsible for researching and resolving any changes and/or issues in accordance with local laws. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process payroll for Vale Oman, ensuring compliance with local company policies and statutory requirements. Utilize the HR system of record for payroll processing, recording special payments, off-cycle payments, and G/L postings in P.S.
- Prepare monthly provision reports and send to Finance/Accounting team.
- Update union records and process monthly payments.
- Facilitate timely and compliant filing for statutory payments (PASI, etc.) and reporting to local government agencies (e.g., basic salary, COLA, Shift Allowance changes, etc.). Act as the key point of contact for third parties (e.g., local government, third-party vendors).
- Ensure Zurich enrollment, contributions, payments, and allocations are accurately managed monthly, with contribution amounts matching the allocations in individual accounts.
- Conduct annual reconciliations for company benefits, such as Tasheel and House Loan.
- Provide exceptional customer service, resolving payroll-related questions via email, telephone, chat, etc.
- Collect and process documentation as required by company policy and local regulations, including bank documents, tax, social security, and other compliance-related paperwork.
- Partner with HR Business Partners to provide guidance on payroll-related topics.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with team members, HR Business Partners, and leaders to understand and resolve business challenges.
- Identify and drive opportunities for efficiency and improvement proactively and consistently.
- Assist with various HR-related administrative tasks as needed, such as acting as a backup for Medical and Life Insurance.
- Validation payroll to ensure its accuracy and compliance in accordance with regulations, rules, policies and procedures before seeking the manager’s approval.
KEY REQUIREMENT:
- Completed Bachelor’s degree or four-years equivalent. Degree in HR or Accounting is an advantage.
- Compute literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Programming experiences / knowledges will be an advantage.
- At least 3 years Payroll experiences, preferably with direct Oman and UAE.
- Fluent in English. Must have at least business-level command of English or better. Other language fluency is a plus.
- Proficient in Oman and UAE statutory requirements pertaining to payroll, including, but not limited to tax, social security, work rules, and statutory reporting. Understanding of local custom vs. local requirements, and ability to take the needs of the business into consideration.
- Ability to execute tasks and meet critical deadlines in a thorough, poised, accurate, and timely manner, while managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced and often-changing environment.
- Superior customer service delivery when communicating with associates and resolving payroll concerns. Ability to balance timely resolution with quality responses, demonstrating empathy in all associate-driven communication.
