Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Manager, Tailings, Water and Environment, you will be part of the TMA Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Assist with the execution of the TMA and Water Resources projects portfolio;
- Lead site-based capital projects throughout the project development process;
- In collaboration with the project sponsors, develop business cases, conceptual ideas, project scopes, technical feasibility reviews;
- Collaborate and manage engineering firms to complete detailed engineering for projects;
- Develop project estimates, prepare and submit Application for Expenditures requests;
- Collaborate with the procurement group to execute scopes of work, tenders, technical bid evaluations and with general contracts management;
- Assist with managing construction activities, monitor daily progress, coordinate activities and resolve conflicts;
- Ensure adherence to all construction health, safety, security and environmental policies and comply with all applicable legal regulations;
- Assist with managing project costs, review actuals to date provide forward looking projections, cost deviation and recommend remedial actions to stay on budget;
- Assist in the ongoing development and improvement of project management processes.
What You Need To Succeed
- Post-secondary education in engineering – Mechanical/Civil/Mining or related field
- Project Engineer designation preferred;
- Project management experience with strong understanding of the project management best practices;
- PMP Certification is a plus
- Previous experience in mining is an asset;
- Highly developed communication and presentation skills (oral and written) that include excellent report writing, presentation and conflict resolution skills;
- Highly developed interpersonal, problem solving, customer service orientation and team skills;
- High degree of conceptual abilities and capacity to develop creative solutions;
- Knowledge of the mining and construction regulations;
- Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines;
- Solid report writing, communication and presentation skills;
- Effective problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach;
- Strong analytical skills.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 4/3, 5/2 (4 days of work followed by 3 days of rest, then 5 days of work from home or a regional office followed by 2 days of rest);
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
