CHERNE Contracting Corporation has a position in Bloomington, MN. Field Engineer 2: DUTIES - Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision. Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed/installed materials and work. Assist with the preparation of work plans and work packages. Perform material takeoffs from drawings, specifications and other contract documents. Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations. Assist in reviewing and analyzing historical data relative to the project, incorporating various productions and costs appropriate in preparation of a bid. Complete material and quantity takeoffs according to bid documents. Travel to US unanticipated worksites may be required and may work from home anywhere in the US. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or construction-related field and 2 years of work experience. In addition, 1 year of experience to involve: (1) advanced proficiency in construction industry software and tools, including Microsoft Office Suite, CAD applications, and scheduling software; (2) demonstrated experience in utilizing data analysis tools for project tracking, cost management, and progress reporting; (3) ability to oversee subcontractors, coordinate with vendors, and maintain effective communication with project owners; and (4) proven track record in developing and maintaining project schedules, managing costs and materials, and ensuring contractual compliance through meticulous record-keeping and progress reporting. Also, any experience to involve: (5) ability to interpret and analyze complex construction drawings, specifications, and 3D models related to various piping and electrical processes; and (6) ability to create detailed site visualizations using software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
