About The Role
As the Ranger Rehabilitation Project progresses, we have an exciting opportunity for a
Senior Advisor - Communities and Social Performance (CSP) to join the Ranger Project CSP team and drive consultation and engagement to inform socio-economic transition plans with Jabiru and surrounding communities.
The primary role of the Senior Advisor CSP is to lead consultation and engagement strategies to inform and deliver community activities, projects and initiatives in partnership with Traditional Owners, and other important Jabiru and West Arnhem land regional stakeholders.
You will have experience in working with Indigenous and land connected peoples.
You will have experience in managing stakeholder engagement systems, community data analyses and reporting to inform business decision-making.
Your responsibilities will also encompass work across technical disciplines such as, social risk analyses, complaints and feedback management, social investment planning, social performance monitoring and reporting.
Reporting to the
Manager CSP, you will
- Lead with purpose community consultation and engagement initiatives to continue to build relationships with the Mirarr people, Jabiru and surrounding communities.
- Optimise social performance manage the Project’s stakeholder management system, including data analyses and reporting.
- Manage social investment through commitments and local partnerships, report on milestones and analyse performance to build improvements into the Project’s social investment and socio-economic transition plans.
- Ensure compliance Identify and respond to local community and stakeholder issues, including management of the Project’s complaints and grievance process.
- Collaborate effectively Represent the business in Jabiru and regional community meetings or forums; and
- Support community partners and stakeholders, activities, projects or initiatives which address areas of both business and community need to manage social risk and impact.

- Experience in data analysis, including working with systems to collect, assess and report on performance
- Proven ability to consult and engage with Traditional Owners, Indigenous communities and corporate entities, government bodies and community organisations
- High level of experience in understanding and addressing community needs and aspirations
- Excellent communication, consensus-building and influencing skills.

Who We Are
Energy Resources of Australia Ltd (ERA) is a publicly listed company with Rio Tinto as its major shareholder. ERA, operated the Ranger Uranium Mine near the town of Jabiru in the Northern Territory, Australia, for over 40 years. In January 2021 ERA ceased all mining and processing activities at Ranger with the major focus now shifting to the comprehensive rehabilitation of the former mine.
Located three hours east of Darwin by road, the Ranger Rehabilitation Project is located on the lands of the Mirarr people. It is the largest project of its kind in Australia and the project is committed to the rehabilitation of the Ranger Project Area to a standard that will eventually allow it to be incorporated back into the surrounding Kakadu National Park should the Traditional Owners and the Commonwealth Government wish.
