Job Description
Residence: Santiago, Chile
English advance level - Mandatory requirement
PURPOSE
Support the execution of the LATAM copper concentrates commercial strategy by managing assigned customer accounts, executing physical transactions, and contributing to sourcing and optimisation initiatives within defined governance and risk frameworks.
This role provides exposure to the full commercial lifecycle of copper concentrates trading, working closely with Sales, Trading, Risk, Finance, and Operations teams.
TYPICAL TASKS
Sales & Sourcing Book Management (America)
- Execute physical sales transactions for assigned customer accounts.
- Search, define and execute 3rd party materials supply into Anglo American smelting operation in Chile.
- Support management of equity offtake contracts from Anglo American owned mines and third-party supply flows
- Support negotiation processes under guidance of senior traders.
- Assist in structuring commercial solutions tailored to customer requirements.
- Support the execution of the end-to-end deal lifecycle under guidance of senior traders.
Sourcing & Optimization (America)
- Contribute to third-party sourcing initiatives for Anglo American smelting operations.
- Understand material solutions client requirements, structure commercial solutions for clients to successfully position Anglo American as a material solutions provider.
- Coordinate closely with Trading and Risk teams to optimise commercial outcomes.
- Monitor contract performance, logistics, and working capital impacts.
Customer/ Regional Development (America)
- Support Sales Manager on the relationships with all customers and suppliers, own the relations with the assigned accounts.
Stakeholder and Relationship Management – internal and external (America)
- Development and maintenance of day to day and long-term relationships with all customers, traders, and producers
- Management of client/ trade solution pitching in close collaboration with Trading Team
- Support commercial pitching and customer solution discussions.
Leadership
- Initiate working relationships beyond immediate team, fostering collaboration, innovation and synergies for the Marketing BU.
- Lead by example to embed the Marketing behaviors as the way the Marketing BU works together.
Qualifications
- Professional degree in Business Engineering, International Trade, Industrial Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced English level – Mandatory.
Experience
- 3–5 years experience in metals & minerals, ideally copper concentrates.
- Exposure to physical trading, logistics, commercial operations, operations or logistics.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Commercial mindset and ability to work under pressure.
