Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Underground Operations Mine Supervisor, you will be part of the Underground Operations Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Operate Dynominer equipment or ANFO lateral loaders (EC3 or AC3);
- Perform the work in accordance with our Health and Safety and quality standards;
- Work safely and efficiently, meeting the desired production requirements;
- Perform daily equipment inspections;
- Inspect your working environment by scaling rocks;
- Load and blast the rounds; from single face to multiple face
- Participate in the implementation of water, air and ventilation services using the scissor lift, jackleg and stoper;
- Ensure the health and safety of you and your team during work;
- Operate other equipment associated to the production category as required;
- Obtaining certification on other equipment associated to the production category may be required;
- Complete work orders;
- May be required to participate for the preparation of production stope;
- May be required to operate other equipment associated to the development category (ref: Career Path);
- May be required to obtain certification on other equipment associated to the development category.
What You Need To Succeed
- A minimum of 2000 hours on the Dynominer equipment or Emulsion lateral loaders (EC3 or AC3);
- 4000 hours in development work, such as face loading, pipe work, ventilation work, manual ground support (would be considered an asset), clean face, etc.;
- Ontario underground common core training certificate is required for the position;
- Mining Engineering plan reading skills;
- Certification on other equipment in the development category such as Loading Unit and Production Scoop - is considered an asset;
- Possess the physical requirements to perform the duties of the job;
- Possess a good work ethic and a positive attitude;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written).
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
