KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Superintendent III, Quality and Lab
The Kamoa Copper Mine, is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometers west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometers west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To manage, coordinate, control and oversee the operation of all internal Quality & Lab personnel, equipment, and activities within the Smelter, and implement a safe, technology, quality, effective preparation equipment inspections, in order to support the achievement of production targets. The incumbent supervises the work of the Quality and Lab team to ensure the efficient and effective operation.
You will have the following:
- BSc in Chemistry (Masters' or PhD advantageous)
- At least 8 years working experience in Lab operations and at least 5 years working experience in quality inspection in a copper smelting plant
- At least 5+ years' experience in a managerial position, preferably in starting up a team to be fully functional
Preferably you will have:
- Quality Management System
- Operation of Lab and Quality inspector related machines or equipment
- Troubleshooting （to determine causes of operating errors and establish remedial actions）
- Familiar with quality control methods of Lab and Quality inspector
- Understand Production and Smelter Standard Operating Procedures
You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:
- DRC mining legislation pertaining to sampling
- Smelter production schedules
Technical Skills should include:
- Understanding smelter systems, methodology and equipment used

Process: Coordinate a world class quality and laboratory function
- Organise and supervise the Quality Lab team to complete analysis tasks as per smelter regulations and requirements.
- Drive effective problem solving and continuous improvement
- Function as a Laboratory subject matter expert
- Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration, and innovation
- Coordinate, monitor and supervise the performance of direct reports.
