About The Role
We are actively seeking a Drill and Blast Senior Supervisor, Mine Operations to join the Côté Gold Mine Site, reporting to the Superintendent, Mine Operations. This role is responsible for leading and coordinating Mine Operations resources for drill-and-blast activities, ensuring safe, responsible, and efficient operations. The Senior Supervisor will support, coach, and develop the Mine Operations drill-and-blast team to enable strong performance and operational success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate Mine Operations drill and blast resources to deliver safe, efficient, and responsible operations.
- Champion safety, environmental compliance, and a strong, inclusive team culture.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to develop high‑performing Mine Operations Drill and Blast teams.
- Coordinate mine plans, maintenance activities, and shift deliverables in collaboration with supervisors, engineers, technical services, and maintenance teams.
- Ensure effective drill and blast operations, including rostering, training, procedures, and accurate shift and equipment logging.
- Optimize (drilling and blasting) to maximize productivity, efficiency, and safety.
- Identify operational risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities, and work collaboratively to implement solutions.
- Support operational reliability through clear communication, cross‑functional collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Job Qualifications
Key Skills & Knowledge:
- Grade 12 or Equivalent
- College diploma or university degree in a related field such as min engineering, robotics, or autonomous systems is considered an asset.
- Ministry Supervisor Training considered an asset.
Relevant Experience
- 10 years or more of open-pit drill and blast mining experience, with at least 3 years in leadership.
- Previous exposure to Autonomous Mining Systems is highly desirable, but not essential.
- Previous exposure to lean and multi-disciplinary team leadership is desirable, but not essential.
- Digital literacy and experience with fleet management systems is required.
Skills & Strengths, We Value
- Advanced proficiency in fleet management systems (e.g., Minestar, Mobius and other blast ignition systems or similar) and strong computer skills.
- Proven leadership ability to train, develop, and empower multidisciplinary teams.
- Solid understanding of heavy equipment operations, mining efficiency drivers, and operational work methods.
- Strong decision‑making and communication skills, with a self‑motivated, solution‑driven approach in fast‑paced environments.
