Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit and underground, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario. The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. About The Role
Title: Mobile Maintnenace Preventive Maintenance (PM) Technician
Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off - 12 hour days
Position Reports To: Mobile Maintenance Supervisor
Role Summary
The role of the Preventative Maintenance Technician is to conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and make repairs as required on machinery, buildings and equipment throughout the mine site to maintain their efficient and safe operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow preventative and predictive maintenance programs through appropriate application of lubrication to mobile equipment and process plant.
- Provide input into planning weekly and annual maintenance.
- Monitor and service fluid levels on equipment and machinery.
- Operate hydraulic tools, jacks, air tools and miscellaneous hand tools.
- Ensure preventative maintenance is carried out in a cost-effective manner.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, buildings and machinery as required.
- Ensure that all breakdowns are attended to immediately.
- Provide input into the development and updating of preventative maintenance systems, spare parts programs, maintenance practices and infrastructure issues.
- Other general maintenance activities to achieve high availability and productivity of mine equipment as well as mine buildings and infrastructure.
- Ensure work order discipline within SAP.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma/GED preferred.
- Valid Drivers’ License preferred.
- Applicable Trades Training is considered an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience working in an industrial setting with heavy equipment and in process plant.
- Experience working on heavy industrial equipment performing lubrication functions.
- Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
- Demonstrated leadership in safety is essential in this role. Strong drive to learn new skills.
- Willingness to take on progressively more responsibilities as they grow and develop with the company.
The anticipated salary for this position will be between $80,000 to $85,000.
