Your impact
Reporting to the Fabrication & Welding Supervisor, in the role of Boilermaker, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of Newmont’s Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) fleet. This includes completing inspections and structural repairs across the Loading, Haul, Ancillary and Drill fleets to support safe and reliable operations.
As part of our team, you will
- Maintain and repair heavy mobile equipment across the Loading, Haul, Ancillary and Drill fleets focused on buckets and GET
- Complete inspections and undertake structural repairs to mobile equipment components Perform welding and fabrication tasks using both inner shield and outer shield wires
- Conduct air arc gouging and lancing as required
- Work safely in workshop, mining and field service environments while maintaining high workmanship standards
- Contribute to a safety-first culture through reliable work practices and positive team engagement
Prerequisites for your success in the role
- Trade qualified Boilermaker / Welder
- Demonstrated experience working on heavy mobile equipment (workshop, mining and/or field service)
- Proven capability in structural repairs on mobile equipment
- Experience with air arc gouging and lancing
- High Risk Licence (WP, CN, DG, RG, CV, LF)
- HR Driver’s Licence
- SAP experience (highly regarded)

Your work environment
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity at Newmont’s Boddington Gold Mine in Western Australia, operating on a 7 on / 7 off rotating dayshift/ nightshift roster, supporting an expanding CAT haulage and ancillary fleet.
You’ll join a supportive, site-based maintenance team with hands-on exposure to modern mining systems and autonomous haulage technologies, in an environment focused on safety, performance, and continuous improvement.
