Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be part of the Energy and Infrastructure Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Responsible for the activities of the following surface and underground teams on site:
- Water Management
- Potable water and sewage treatment faciltities operation
- Road & airstrip maintenance
- Heavy equipment operations including Cranes, Long Haul Trcuking, Ore Pad & Watse Rock management
- Camp Operations
- Provide leadership, mentorship and coaching to Site Services supervision and crews;
- Manage site operations activities with the objective of maximizing productivity, availability and reliability while minimizing costs;
- Continuously examine the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and facilitate changes;
- Create and manage the department budget (opex and capex);
- Develop and implement operational procedures and safe work plans;
- Analyses, approves and implements the KPI’s to be applied in the department;
- Ensure best practices and quality control management through all the activities.
What You Need To Succeed
- Technical background in Electrical, Mechanical or relevant field;
- 5-10 years of experience managing multi-disciplined & diversified teams;
- Leadership as well as interpersonal, organizational and conflict resolution skills;
- Experience managing departmental budgets;
- Experience supervising trade and/or operational teams in a mining environment;
- Coaching experience and training are considered an asset;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Note that the official working language at Hope Bay is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 7 days of work, followed by 7 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
