We are looking for a Logistics Sourcing Specialist to oversee day-to-day operations, implement best practices, and ensure adherence to quality standards. While working, you’ll report to the Logistics Manager, and your duties will include
- Develop and establish the sourcing strategy for freight solution for outbound and inbound flows based on the business needs.
- Develop and coach indirect reports including Execution team members, junior specialists, etc.
- Lead service provider contract negotiations, develop strategy for the category.
- Implement & Manage contracts with Service providers (Contract Management)
- Assess the options for inbound deliveries including evaluation of FCA vs DAT/DAP
- Manage strategic stakeholder’s relations within US Borax
- Align logistics services with operations, commercial, and procurement.
- Identify and initiate ways to improve, internal business processes, service performance, cost & quality.
- Lead the escalation management with service providers.
- Meet transportation budgets and cost reduction goals.
- Work with key external stakeholders on market intel.
- ESG engagement with suppliers and reporting to understand carbon footprint including pathway to align with internal targets.
- Collaborate, engage, and negotiate with service providers and internal stakeholders.
- Contributes to development of the uses of best practices in work activities.
- Reduce costs, create value, and improve net working capital for the US Borax.
- Be seen as a strategic advisor by the business unit and commercial.
- Supplier relationship management (SRM)
- Ensure business processes and tools are well understood and followed by relevant stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
- Undergraduate / Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Business Administration or equivalent education is required.
- Minimum of 10 years experiences in a procurement, transportation or logistics / customer facing function is required.
- Experience within a global organization with a focus on supporting internal/external stakeholders is preferred.
- Knowledge of Rio Tinto’s business units is an asset.
- A valid state driver’s license.
