About The Role
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join the established Borates Digital team – a diverse group of project leaders and data engineers responsible for delivering digital products and business results to the Borates business. Using the latest technology in data integration, modelling, engineering, and delivery, you will work directly with front line employees to change decisions and improve business results in safety, cost and production.
This is a delivery role and will work directly with end-users, data scientists, data engineers and third-party partners to identify, scope, solution and deliver digital products using agile methodologies.

- Work with “fusion teams” – cross functional teams of data engineers, data scientists and third-party technology companies combined with end-users (operators, maintainers, supervisors, leaders, engineers) to deliver digital products that change decisions and improve business results
- Build knowledge, understanding and expertise on our data and software development platforms
- Identify and scope potential projects – working from the decision backwards, investigate the problem to be solved the decision to be changed, the data and systems that underpin the business and then architect, design and deliver products that deliver the objective
- Perform exploratory data analytics on business processes and operational outcomes in support of project scoping and shaping
- Solve complex and challenging problems by working closely with operators, maintainers, engineers, and other subject-matter-experts
- Learn and apply agile methodologies in the delivery of digital products
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for
- A bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is preferred, but progressive industry experience will be considered
- Experience from anywhere – we solve problems related to everything from big machinery to commercial supply chain complexities – and we are looking for people from any industry
