Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Corporate Director, Metallurgy, you will be part of the Technical Services Department. You will serve as a key technical authority within the organization, responsible for safeguarding operational performance and minimizing enterprise risk across all sites and regions. You will provide expert guidance and oversight while challenging sites / projects teams to ensure operations, and technical decisions align with corporate expectations and industry-leading practices.
- Delivery of appraisals of site scenarios and LOM/budget for technical feasibility and risk in delivering the plan, inclusive of capital requirements.
- Evaluation and continuous monitoring of site technical and operational risk profiles. Maintain the metallurgy/processing-related components of the corporate risk register accurately and up to date. Ensure standards & guidelines are maintained.
- Maintain visibility of site status to provide overarching site technical support as required. Including but not limited to: Processing Methods; Metallurgical Recoveries; Scheduling; Technical Risk & Opportunity.
- Facilitate shared learnings across AEM portfolio through: Communities of Practice; Technical Workshops; Working Groups; Mentoring; and Enabling Introductions/Collaboration between personnel across different site teams.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong Metallurgical Background with 12+ years of technical & operations experience in precious metals processing operations.
- Base metal experience.
- Previous project development experience.
- Solid foundation in medium- & long-term production planning and technical leadership roles.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, relationship-focused, capable of building consensus through communication, collaboration and influence.
- Attuned to identifying risk and opportunity, demonstrating the highest personal safety, environmental standards, and full commitment to the application of relevant legislation, codes, and company standards.
- Agility with financial concepts and calculations, as required by various studies, projects, and capital evaluations.
- Open-minded toward opportunities, with strong analytical, planning, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
- Bilingual English/French or English/Spanish is considered an asset.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from our Corporate Office in Toronto, ON. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
- Availability to travel internationally to support the AEM portfolio.
