About The Goldfield District Project
Located on the Walker Lane trend in Esmeralda County, Nevada, about 30 miles south of Tonopah, the Goldfield District Project can be accessed via U.S. Highway 95 from Las Vegas or Reno. This project is an underexplored property in a prolific mining jurisdiction that provides substantial upside potential.
Goldfield is a conventional open-pit, heap leach project currently proceeding with development and construction after completing a technical study in August 2025. The project has an approximate mine life of 7-years and first production is expected by the end of 2028, adding to Centerra’s near-term gold production profile.
Goldfield District Project promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
About The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a
Coordinator, Environmental to join our team in Goldfield District Project in
Goldfield, Nevada.
Reporting to the Environmental Manager, the Environmental Coordinator will provide coordination and support across permitting, regulatory compliance at the Goldfield Mine. The role will be responsible for developing and managing the environmental compliance program for the site – this will involve overseeing Centerra and Contractor Operations. Will aid in the permitting strategy, and permit submission process.
This role will oversee two Environmental Technician’s and will be based at site working day-to-day with the operations to ensure proper oversight, documentation and compliance.
Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
Regulatory & Permitting Support
- Develop and maintain permitting registers, compliance tracking tools, and key regulatory correspondence records for the site.
- Participate in Environmental Inspections, and develop reports highlighting findings, actions and next steps.
- Coordinate regulatory submission schedules and ensure timely compilation of supporting documents for permitting and exploration activities.
- Assist with the preparation of transmittal letters, response matrices, and permit amendment documentation.
- Support internal and external review processes for permit applications, baseline reports, and compliance documents for various stages of project maturity.
Document Control & Compliance Administration
- Lead the logging of permitting and environmental documentation on SharePoint or other document management platforms.
- Produce documentation for regulators or other interested parties.
Consultant & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate and supervise Permitting or Environmental consultants to ensure deliverables are delivered per project / operation schedules.
- Review Consultant documentation, comment, and provide input to align with needs.
- Review Invoices and validate payment per Contracts. Maintain budget tracking for permitting and compliance related scopes.
- Collaborate with Legal, Technical Services, Exploration, and Project Controls teams to ensure alignment on permitting-related commitments and timelines.
Reporting & ESG Data Support
- Support preparation of internal and external environmental and social compliance summaries.
- Assist in compiling data and narrative inputs for ESG disclosures, board materials, and technical reports.
- Contribute to closure planning documentation and tracking of long-term reclamation obligations.
- Support interdisciplinary study programs and manage consultant teams from scoping through delivery across project life stages.
About You
Our ideal candidate will possess the following skillset and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, Hydrogeology, Geochemistry, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in environmental permitting, geochemical and hydrogeological study management, and regulatory engagement within the mining industry or a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal (NEPA, CWA, RCRA) and Nevada state permitting and environmental compliance frameworks preferred.
- Familiarity Mine Closure, pit lake modeling, and predictive water quality assessments.
- Demonstrated experience in public consultation and stakeholder management.
- Proven ability to manage consultants, field programs, and multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Experience with open pit, heap leach gold operations in the Western U.S.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage complex permitting scenarios.
- Practical knowledge of air and water quality monitoring, biological surveys, and waste management.
- Familiarity with stakeholder-sensitive permitting paths and socio-environmental risk mitigation.
- Familiarity with environmental compliance reporting and ESG reporting using Monitor Pro, Isometrix, Excel, or a similar reporting software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of preparing reports, memos, and board-level materials.
- Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
