About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Key Responsibilities
Work Identification & Scoping
- Review operator inspections, notifications, and defect reports.
- Validate work requests and convert approved notifications into work orders.
- Clarify work scope with supervisors, technicians, and OEM representatives.
- Identify repeat jobs and incorporate improvements into job plans.
SAP PM Work Order Planning
- Create PM, corrective, and breakdown work orders in SAP PM.
- Develop detailed job plans, including task steps, special tools, safety requirements, and estimated durations.
- Identify required labor, skills, and crew size.
- Develop and maintain task lists and job plans for repeatable work.
- Utilize accurate BOMs to plan required materials and parts reservations.
- Initiate procurement of parts, tooling, and external services through SAP MM.
Scheduling & Coordination
- Participate in weekly and daily scheduling meetings.
- Build a 7‑day maintenance schedule aligned with Operations and Dispatch.
- Ensure planned work is fully prepared before scheduling (“Ready-to-Work” status).
- Coordinate with mine operations, tire shop, weld shop, and mobile supervisors.
- Monitor progress against the schedule and adjust as required.
Cost Awareness & Data Accuracy
- Ensure planned labor, materials, and services are realistic and accurate.
- Review planned vs. actual costs for continuous improvement.
- Support cost accuracy improvements through improved master data and planning discipline.
- Work with Supply Chain to ensure correct GI, SES, and invoice posting.
Master Data & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain and improve:
- Equipment master data
- Maintenance plans and task lists
- Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Job plans for common maintenance tasks
- Collaborate with Reliability Engineering to analyze equipment performance, recurring failures, and improvement opportunities.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Stakeholder Communication - Serve as a central communication point between Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Reliability.
- Provide clear, timely updates on job readiness, material shortages, and schedule risks.
- Support shutdown planning and execution when required.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in mobile equipment maintenance planning or high‑level mechanical experience in open pit mining.
- Strong proficiency with SAP PM (notifications, work orders, BOMs, task lists, material reservations).
- Understanding of heavy mobile equipment (haul trucks, loaders, dozers, graders, drills).
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and parts diagrams.
- Effective communication skills across departments.
Preferred
- Trade certification (e.g., Heavy Equipment Technician) or relevant technical training.
- Previous experience as a planner in a mining or industrial environment.
- Understanding of reliability principles and maintenance strategies.
- Experience with dispatch/FMS systems (e.g., Modular, Wenco, Cat MineStar).
Alamos Gold Inc. provides flights from Toronto, Sudbury, Thunder Bay and Rouyn-Noranda to Wawa. The schedule is 7on / 7off, or 14 on/ 14 off. Pay or shift range: $87,750 CAD to $133,850 CAD

Salary Range: CAD $87,750 to $133,850
The expected salary range for this role is intended to support transparency and informed decision making. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience and internal equity.
