Located about 140 kilometres east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Jansen is set to become one of the largest and most sustainable potash mines on the planet. With a CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment, it marks the largest private investment in Saskatchewan’s history and a major milestone for BHP in Canada.

Jansen is more than a mine. It’s a long‑term opportunity to build something meaningful. During construction, the project will create approximately 5,500 jobs, and once operational, around 900 permanent roles. The Challenge Ahead

Our 24‑month Graduate Engineer Program is designed to set the foundation for a long‑term career at BHP. The program focuses on developing strong technical capability while building professional skills in engagement, change management, and delivering results.

You will rotate through 2–4 different teams, gaining exposure to real projects, diverse disciplines, and experienced leaders across the business. This balanced approach allows you to build well‑rounded capabilities, meaningful relationships, and leadership skills early in your career. Toward the end of the program, you’ll have the opportunity to remain within the same commodity or explore other pathways across BHP, showcasing everything you’ve learned along the way.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in a structured graduate development program combining technical and professional learning
Rotate across multiple teams to build broad engineering and operational exposure
Contribute to real projects from day one, supported by experienced, multidisciplinary teams
Apply analytical and problem‑solving skills to support construction, operations readiness, and operational ramp‑up
Collaborate effectively with colleagues across functions and disciplines
Leverage digital tools and modern technologies to help solve complex engineering challenges

What You’ll Bring to the Role

A post‑secondary degree obtained within the last two years, or eligibility to graduate by May/June 2026, in one of the following disciplines:
- Geological Engineering
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Process Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Environmental Engineering
- Civil Engineering
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Previous experience in a construction or engineering environment is considered an asset

Work Location

This role is based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, with a standard 40‑hour work week, Monday to Friday.

Hybrid working is standard at BHP, offering flexible arrangements, shared workstations, and a combination of office and work‑from‑home options.

Domestic relocation assistance is available if required and may include new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodation, home‑finding support, and a resettlement allowance.
