The Challenge Ahead

As a Specialist Data & Digital, you’ll play a key role in making our potash operations safer, more reliable, and better connected.

This is a hands on role focused on turning real operational challenges into practical, easy to use data and digital solutions. You’ll design and build data pipelines, system integrations, and digital tools that frontline and business teams genuinely trust and use. Working closely with operational teams, IT, OT, and analytics colleagues, you’ll help ensure data flows reliably from source to insight—supporting better decisions on site and across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines from operational, IT, and third party systems.
Develop and support system integrations using APIs, ETL/ELT tools, and approved enterprise platforms.
Configure and support practical digital tools and low code solutions that meet real operational needs.
Monitor data quality, reliability, and availability, responding quickly when issues arise.
Ensure all solutions align with BHP’s architecture, cybersecurity, and data governance standards.
Prepare and structure data to support analytics, reporting, and decision making.
Contribute to reusable assets, standards, documentation, and best practices.
Work collaboratively with business, IT, OT, analytics teams, and delivery partners to deliver fit for purpose solutions.
Actively support testing, deployment, and adoption of solutions across the business.
Design and build with safety, risk, and operational realities front of mind.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

At least five years of hands‑on experience in data engineering, digital solutions, or a closely related field.
Proven experience building and supporting data pipelines, system integrations, and interfaces.
Experience working with cloud‑based data platforms and modern data architectures.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, applied to real operational challenges.
The ability to communicate clearly with both technical specialists and non‑technical stakeholders.
Experience in asset‑intensive, industrial, or operational environments is highly regarded.
A practical, collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in delivering outcomes that matter.

Work Location

Downtown, Saskatoon office. 40 hours per week. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.
