Reporting to the Superintendent – Demand & Supply, you will support procurement and supply chain integrity across the mine site by ensuring clear, standardized technical requirements aligned to operational needs, while contributing to strategic sourcing, supplier performance management, and data quality improvement.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate with end users across the mine site to develop, review, and refine Scopes of Work (SOW), ensuring technical accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
- Identify repetitive and high-volume service requirements and support initiatives for strategic sourcing and contract consolidation.
- Work closely with Commercial Officers to conduct market research and provide technical input to support supplier identification, evaluation, and selection.
- Provide technical support to the Supply Chain inventory team in the cleansing, standardization, and optimization of master data.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the supplier performance appraisal system, including the development of technical evaluation criteria.
- Act as a key liaison between end users and Supply Chain during the cataloguing process to ensure accurate classification and specification of materials and services.
- Drive standardization of technical specifications and contribute to reducing duplication and inefficiencies across the supply chain.
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following:
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical or engineering related role within mining or heavy industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools (SQL, Power BI, or similar)
- Strong technical understanding of mining operations, equipment, and services.
- Experience in drafting or reviewing technical Scopes of Work and specifications.
- Familiarity with inventory management and master data systems (e.g., ERP systems).
- Ability to analyze and standardize technical data and specifications.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into commercial documentation.
