Your Impact
As Projects Superintendent, you will provide strategic leadership and full accountability for the safe delivery of complex, high‑value capital and community infrastructure projects at Peñasquito. Your work will directly influence business performance, cost optimization, asset integrity, and our commitment to Zero Harm, while supporting Newmont’s operational and social objectives.
As part of our team, you will
- Lead and mentor the Project Management Team, contractors, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Drive a strong Zero Harm culture, ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Supervise the planning and execution of the capital and community infrastructure projects from scope definition through handover to operations.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and AFEs, ensuring financial discipline and transparency.
- Oversee contractor performance, contract administration, change control, and risk mitigation.
- Monitor engineering, QA/QC, and onsite execution to ensure quality, productivity, and timely delivery.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and corrective actions to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Promote continuous improvement, coaching, succession planning, and best practices across the team.
Prerequisites for your success in this role
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management.
- Relevant industry experience, ideally in mining, industrial construction, infrastructure, or energy.
- Strong experience in a leadership role, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, cost control, AFE processes, and contract management.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and contractors in complex environments.
- Solid understanding of engineering practices, QA/QC, and project lifecycle documentation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to operate effectively in high‑pressure settings.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred.
- PMP, Professional Engineering licensure, or advanced degree is an advantage.
Your work environment
- This role is based at Minera Peñasquito and operates in an active, site‑based mining and industrial environment. You will spend time in the field, working closely with operations and contractors, and must be able to safely access construction and operational areas under varying conditions.
- Roster: 4 days onsite, 0.5 day working from home, and 2 days off.
