Your impact
As Team Lead, Accounting Services, you will ensure accurate and consistent financial data by supervising daily accounting activities. Your leadership will help Newmont maintain reliable reporting, compliance, and process improvements that support informed business decisions.
As Part of Our Team, You Will
- Supervise team members and review performance against accounting service metrics.
- Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end deliverables.
- Monitor the Fixed Asset Register and ensure adherence to internal controls and audit requirements.
- Support regulatory compliance and Sarbanes-Oxley documentation.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and training activities.
- Provide feedback and coaching to team members, fostering professional growth and a positive team culture.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or experience in-lieu of degree.
- Advanced English level (B2+ at least)
- Knowledge of GAAP, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements across multiple regions.
- Proficiency in SAP (or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience in shared services or financial service delivery environments.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
Your Work Environment
- You will be part of Newmont’s Global Delivery Center (GDC) in Costa Rica, working within the Corporate function.
- The role is people-focused and involves cross-functional collaboration with global stakeholders across People, Finance, IT, and Supply Chain teams.
- While the position is intended to be hybrid, as we establish our foundation, we will begin on-site to foster strong relationships, align our strategies, and ensure a solid framework for long-term success.
- For this role, there are both day and night shift options available.
- Compensation will be aligned with the local Costa Rican market and paid in Costa Rican colones (CRC).
