About the Job:
Operating in a Northern British Columbia mining environment on a two week in/two week out shift rotation, the Project Geologist is a key employee involved in the Exploration functions at the Silvertip Project. Solid work ethics, regular attendance, and punctuality are essential requirements for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Senior Geologists to oversee surface and underground drilling programs from the planning stage to the interpretation stage, including creating drill plans, providing logistical support, monitoring drilling progress, modeling and presenting final data.
- Perform detailed structural and geological surface and underground mapping and sampling campaigns over prospect areas.
- Provide supervision and mentorship to junior members of the exploration team.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely core logging and sampling.
- Communicate results and progress via presentations and written reports to the Exploration Manager.
- Validation of drillhole data suitable for database creation.
- Perform pre-operational checks, operate tools and vehicles, and perform all job functions according to Safe Operating Procedures.
- Accomplish other tasks within their area(s) of expertise as requested.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- B.Sc. Geology or Geoscience.
- Minimum of five (5) years in exploration; experience in structurally controlled deposits and CRD-porphyry knowledge within Canada is considered a strong asset.
- Previous experience with surface and/or underground exploration drilling operations and/or work in an underground mine production setting.
- Working knowledge of Leapfrog Geo, Acquire and MS Office suite.
- Registered, or eligible to register as a professional geologist (P.Geo) with EGBC.
- Unrestricted working and residence rights in Canada.
- Valid driver's license.
- Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.
Additional Information:
- Willing to work a two-week rotation schedule, with 12-hour shifts per day at a remote camp.
- Eligible for Annual Incentive Bonus.
- Our current designated marshalling locations are Vancouver, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Calgary, Edmonton, Whitehorse, Teslin, and Watson Lake.
