Position Summary/Purpose
The HR Business Partner works closely with management to drive measurable improvements in employee engagement and productivity. This role builds strong partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added services to both management and employees, ensuring alignment with business values and objectives.
Additionally, the HR Business Partner provides project leadership for key HR initiatives and offers mentorship to less experienced HR professionals, fostering growth and capability within the team.
This position supports the HR team in the Swiss and Dutch offices.
Main Responsibilities
Management and Support
Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to business leaders through coaching, career development, counseling, and disciplinary actions. Manage and resolve complex employee-relations issues. Offer informal leadership and mentorship to less experienced HR professionals, acting as program/process lead for initiatives such as performance management, succession planning, and employee development.
People Planning & Talent Management
Develop comprehensive people plans aligned with the broader HR agenda and address specific workforce challenges. Implement talent management processes across departments and provide thought leadership to enhance operational efficiency and organizational performance. Coach stakeholders to adopt innovative approaches to team structures and work processes for improved business outcomes.
Strategy
Embed business strategies at all levels by guiding workforce planning, organizational restructuring, and succession planning. Ensure HR processes are applied appropriately and in compliance with legal requirements. Design strategies for people management and talent acquisition for key roles, including a strategic approach to recruitment.
Analytics
Analyze trends and metrics in collaboration with HR teams to develop solutions that address current challenges and prevent future issues. Measure and validate the effectiveness of HR metrics, driving productivity optimization. Create programs that deliver measurable improvements and actionable people management strategies.
Relationships
Build and maintain trusted relationships across departments through regular engagement with leadership teams. Oversee complex employee-relations cases, support formal appeals and hearings, and coach managers on best practices.
Collaboration
Work closely with HR teams on recruitment, compensation, and other functions to ensure effective programs. Participate in HR meetings and contribute to solutions for department-wide and business-wide challenges. Partner with department heads to clarify compensation, rewards, training, and development programs, and promote strong management and communication practices. Support stakeholders in accessing relevant labor and development programs while driving initiatives that align with business goals.
Knowledge and Compliance
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and internal policies to minimize risk, ensure compliance, and enhance employee satisfaction and retention. Conduct ongoing research to deliver proactive and reactive solutions that add value and support organizational objectives.
Industrial Relations
Ensure company policies and procedures are effectively communicated and implemented in compliance with Dutch and Swiss employment laws. Advise clients on correct practices and take timely, effective action. Maintain professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality while delivering accurate, efficient services under minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources / Business studies / Economics or Psychology
- 5-8 years HR experience
- Working knowledge in full HR cycle topics
- Experience in an MNC or international company
- Good knowledge of local labor laws and managing employee relations issues
- MS Office (Excel / PowerPoint)
